This course examines the key environmental issues facing our planet using basic tools of economic analysis. This course will provide students with a comprehensive exposition of the basic principles of international economics. The focus will be on the principle of comparative advantage and gains from trade, protectionism, the balance of payments, exchange rate determination, international capital markets and the international trade policy. The course will also address international economic problems and issues facing the United States and the world in the 21st century.
